AVALANCHE ROAD SINGLE SPEED- STEEL
DATE DE REALISATION : OCTOBER 2024
CYCLISTE : Man , 1m 80
PRESENTATION :
This road bike was designed and built for a cyclist who was already a fan of handmade bikes. He already owned a bespoke steel gravel bike, so for this second bike he wanted a machine that was sharper, more responsive and lighter, while retaining steel as the material. Mainly used for his daily commute, which can be quite long and on fairly flat terrain, the project was geared towards an (almost) single speed road bike, while retaining disc brakes.
We then helped him find the ideal design with 2 rear sprockets combined with an Ingrid crankset (which needs no introduction) to make this bike easy to maintain, light and responsive. All components come from France or neighbouring countries. The carbon wheels are designed and spoked by Duke, an expert in this field, the crankset is machined in Italy, and the seatpost/stem/handlebar assembly is made by Tune, whose components we also greatly appreciate.
Finally, the main inspiration for the paintwork was a photograph of a comet in a starry sky, whose colours and gradations particularly appealed to the owner of this bike. This photo was used as the basis for the metallic colours, with glitter added at the end to evoke the star-studded cosmos.
