AVALANCHE ROAD - STEEL
DATE DE REALISATION : APRIL 2024
CYCLIST : Man , 1m 85
PRESENTATION :
This road bike has two features that tend to disappear nowadays: pad brakes and a lot of components in silver finish. While we often present bikes with disc brakes, full integration and electronic shifting , it is just as much a pleasure to build a bike like this.
The owner of this bike was particularly sensitive to this detail of the frame, already realized on some Avalanche bikes, with these seat stays connected to the top tube. This feature obviously requires extra work, but it gives the bike a formal uniqueness and can also help to better absorb road irregularities, improving the rider's comfort. This is a very valuable asset in a race like the PBP.
On this road bike, which will be used mainly for testing in the run-up to the next Paris-Brest-Paris race, the customer has chosen classic, well-known components, such as the Campagnolo mechanical groupset, combined with rim brakes, which, whatever one might say, are a proven and highly effective braking system, especially for a pure road bike. These components, which could be described as "classic", are, however, shaken up by the Zipp carbon wheelset, which gives this machine extra liveliness and lightness
for the paintjob, the owner of this bike really had this soft gradient between a sky blue and a darker blue in mind, and he gave us carte blanche to put an inscription in Greek on one area of the bike. We decided to use it as a graphic motif, very stretched and thin, on the top of the top tube, rather than using the word as a more classic signature.
