PRESENTATION: This all-stainless steel bike left our workshop in the spring of 2023. Its owner wanted a resolutely sporty, light and responsive bike, while combining artisanal work and a tailor-made approach. The frame, designed in Columbus Xcr tube, offers this bike a perfect balance between rigidity, lightness and comfort. Having hesitated with an electronic group, he preferred to opt for a cable gear change, and what is more, externally, giving a classic and timeless reminder to this resolutely contemporary bike. The cable stops, fine little golden pieces, then add a small, subtle and elegant detail.
All the components have clearly been selected with a view to efficiency and lightness. Many components have been sourced as close as possible to us. The wheels and hubs are made at Tune, in Germany, the seatpost and the cockpit are made to order at our Spanish neighbor Darimo, and the saddle is produced in Ile de France at Coco bikepart.
Finally, the paint job here is the result of a long work, both on the design and on its realization. The pattern on this bike is a free interpretation of “dazzle”. Also known as “razzle dazzle” in the United States, this pattern is a camouflage technique designed to protect a ship from artillery and torpedo fire, causing misdirection. assessment of its position and course. Attributed to the artist Norman Wilkinson, this camouflage is based on a pattern formed by a tangle of irregular oblique lines and very contrasting colors. This finish required many hours of work and adjustments, but the result obtained corresponds entirely to what our client wanted.
